"I'm the treasurer": Nursing student accused of embezzling 185,000 pesos from graduation

"I'm the treasurer": Nursing student accused of embezzling 185,000 pesos from graduation

School of Savings - A nursing student was accused of stealing 185,000 pesos intended for her classmates' graduation... and she was still outraged when they accused her of the small detail of having defrauded them.

In one of those stories that society in general eagerly awaits every graduation season, it happened again: a party couldn't take place because the person in charge of keeping the money (aka the treasurer) ended up embezzling from the rest of the group.

He gave them a dance and without a party…

Nursing graduation is canceled

The incident occurred at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, for its complex and creative acronym), when a group of nursing students publicly denounced the person in charge of the money, who had stopped attending classes and hadn't responded to messages for weeks, discreetly anticipating what was coming.

That's how the victims—now without a party, a cap, and a budget—decided to protest at the Academic Tower to demand an explanation. They clarified that the accused (who, for some reason, did show up at the rally) had only made some initial payments for the event, and then, poof , she disappeared without a trace... not even a receipt.

"The fact that I kept some money doesn't excuse them from committing a crime like the one they're committing," the young woman defended herself, not before threatening to sue her classmates for defamation and unlawful deprivation of liberty . It's no joke.

Students from the UAS Nursing School in #Culiacán confronted a classmate who allegedly stole nearly 200,000 pesos intended for their graduation celebrations.

Already heated, several of those affected pointed out that the student used the money to pay for extraordinary exams for subjects she had failed, and they even mentioned that she used to arrive by public transport and now has a "stroller," a clear sign that she knew how to invest... other people's money.

The impact per student would amount to more than $14,000 pesos, confirming that, in 2025, organizing graduations and assuming the role of treasurer remains one of the country's most profitable investments.

And in case you missed it: the candidate who campaigned on pork rinds ended up becoming a Minister of the Court.
